The U.S. Embassy in Libya builds relations between the United States and Libya through educational and cultural exchange programs that promote leadership development, educational transformation and democratic ideals. Each year, Libyans ranging from youth to private and public sector professionals have various opportunities to engage with their American counterparts in the United States. The U.S. Embassy also hosts online learning communities for Libyans to improve their English language skills and learn more about American culture.
Since the U.S. Embassy suspended all embassy operations in Libya on July 29, 2014, education and cultural programming is being reinstated on a gradual basis. Please check the U.S. Embassy Facebook page for updates and deadlines.
