My Libyan friends,
On behalf of the entire mission of the United States to Libya, I would like to extend my sincere greetings to you and to your family as we approach the New Year.
On this occasion, and in light of the difficult times that many Libyans currently face, my message to you is that the United States is committed to stand by you, the Libyan people, in your quest for peace, stability and a return to normal life.
The U.S. Mission’s efforts are centered on this goal, and we stand ready to work with all Libyan leaders and citizens who remain committed to bringing an end to the fighting in Tripoli and support international efforts in achieving a negotiated political solution to the crisis in Libya.
A lot of work remains before us, but I’m confident that together, and through the support of the international community, Libya will be able to chart a path towards stability and unity.
I wish you peace and prosperity in the New Year.
